Each year Heather gathers slate from around the world, adding only distinctive specimens to her studio's inventory in Saratoga, California. The desire to match individual pieces of slate is time intensive and may take as long as three years to assemble. Each one-of-a-kind sculpture is then given a title and becomes ready for sale either commercially or residentially. Sometimes a site-specific sculpture and/or catch basin is more appropriate. In these cases, Heather often makes site visits to determine what watersculpture or style basin is best suited for an individual site. The pre-fabricated basins are available in a range of sizes and constructed from steel-reinforced cast stone.
